Metals I
use:
14 Karat Gold
Fill: All of my designs are created using either solid 14k
gold, 14k gold-filled, 14k white gold filled, or sterling silver
wire. 14k gold-filled (& 14k white gold fill) is a layer of 14k
gold mechanically bonded under heat and pressure to a base metal,
then rolled or drawn to a given thickness. To meet industry
standards, the quantity of gold must be at least 1/20th weight of
the total product. The surface layer of gold is of the appropriate
karatage and is very thick compared to rolled gold plate or the
heaviest electroplated material. Gold-filled jewelry is considered
life-time quality and will not wear off like electroplated
products.
14 Karat White
Gold Fill: Same as above only with the white gold on
top.
Sterling
Silver: Sterling silver is
composed of 925 parts of pure silver and 75 parts alloy, usually
copper.
Rose Gold: Occassionally, I will
offer a special piece in rose gold wire.
